The UB College of Business Administration and Accountancy hones the students of Business, Accountancy, and Secretarial to be well prepared to fit the demands of a business-oriented and globalizing world. The graduate is equipped not only with the knowledge and expertise of his line of endeavor, but is also sensitive to the needs of the times, his culture and ecology. He must be the Business Graduate with a vision to be economically but also morally conscious in the practice of his profession.
Original course offering of the school in 1948 included short term courses like bookkeeping, typewriting and stenography. In 1950, the Bachelor of Science in Commerce (BSC) programs was opened, followed by BS Commercial Education (1952), Junior Secretarial Course (1954), BS Secretarial Administration (1978), and later, BS Computer Science (1992).
The College was granted Level II Re-Acreditation by PACUCOA last September 1997. The same body issued the Certificate of Level II Second Re-Accredited Status to the College last February 2002. On August 27, 2007 the Programs Business Administration were granted Level III Accreditation by Philippine Association of the Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
The College of Business Administration and Accountancy envisions to continuously produce responsible and conscientious business executive and office personnel, who will become respected members of the business community because of their competence and integrity. Among others, it aims to (a) provide students with the quality education and the necessary skills as well as adequate opportunities for them to think analytically and independently before making a decision, and consequently develop their confidence; (b) develop among the students a pioneering spirit so that they will be confident yet cautious in introducing trends in their fields; and (c) produce specialists and innovators in the field of business and computers whose opinions and decisions will be held in high esteem by their peers.
