The University of Baguio College of Engineering started in 1958 with one course offering, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). Several other new courses were offered as it continued to provide QUALITY and RESPONSIVE EDUCATION.
The College of Engineering was one of the colleges that were initially visited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACU-COA) on November 1992. It was granted Level I Accredited status on February 8, 1993; Level II on March 17, 1995; and Level II Re-Accredited status on September 24, 1997 by the same accrediting body.
In October 1999, the college has been granted by CHED the status Center of Development, Category 2 (COD 2) in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering.
In September 2000, the University of Baguio, through the College of Engineering, was selected by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) as the Hub Learning Center of Virtual Centers for Technology Innovation (VCTI). The same government agency has also accredited the University to offer Electronics and Coomunications Engineering (BSECE).
