College of Liberal Arts

Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts Program, which was opened in 1950, became the College of Arts and Sciences when Pre-Nursing, Criminology, BS Biology and Medical Technology were offered. Because of the increase in the population of Criminology and Medical Technology, these two became separate colleges in 1982 and 1994 respectively.

The College of Liberal Arts purports to develop a professionally prepared and responsive individual who is able to pursue career development in related professions and be a useful member of the society of which he is a part. Among others, the College aims to (a) train the students to be God-loving, responsible and morally upright individuals; (b) provide the students with a broad knowledge in the natural, human and mathematical sciences to prepare them for the pursuit of other related professions; (c) develop special skills with emphasis in oral and written communications, arts, analytical thinking and leadership; (d) cultivate in the students tolerance for the differences in beliefs, values, arts and culture of people; and (e) provide training in positive, dynamic Filipinism.
