An Institution void of its own reservoir of researches can be equated to a carriage without a horse; i.e. progress does not come to pass without Research.  Corresponding to the University’s relentless pursuit of academic excellence and professional growth and development, the founding of the Research and Development Center (R&DC) facilitates in this endeavour.
 
The UB R&DC envisions itself as a leading and dynamic research institution towards the attainment of “quality life” for all.  The rationale underlying the Center’s dynamics is the creation and sustenance of a research culture in the University hence, produce and disseminate relevant, useful and quality treatises.

Research is sporadically perceived as a cumbersome venture, thus the Center provides a miscellany of resources which facilitates an individual through the different research processes.  The UB R&DC has been buttressed with the presence of a Research Staff, the Institutional Research Review Board (IRRB), and College Research Anchorpersons (CRAp).  The assistance readily afforded by the assemblage sets a researcher’s intensive and compelling work in motion.

The research culture in the University has categorically permeated the UB community.  Personnel and faculty members from the primary to the post-graduate levels have immersed themselves in conducting various studies to address and arrest concerns and issues pervading their respective departments and the Institution en bloc.

Irrefutably, research is the paramount instrument for much-sought advancement.  Thus, the benefit of every member of the academe taking part in shaping the future of research in particular and of the Institution in general is pervasive and enduring.
