This year, the University of Baguio (UB) registered a major win during the National Federation of Junior Philippine Accountants (NFJPIA) Region 1 and CAR Annual Regional Convention held in Alaminos City, Pangasinan last Feb. 15-17.
UB’s Franklin Jan Wayang bagged the gold medal in the Master in Cost and Management Advisory Services, granting him a spot in NFJPIA’s Annual National Convention in April. He also picked up a 100% review scholarship from Nation's Foremost CPA Review. Meanwhile, Charlie Yang-eo finished as a finalist in the same event.
On the other hand, Emery Anne Micu and Kathleen Solamo secured the second place in the Executive Officers' Encounter, a general knowledge quiz.
In addition, Stephanie Solomon and Valerie Jane Valdez made it to the final round of the Master in Business Laws and Taxation, competing as finalists.
Furthermore, in recognition of his “excellent achievements and exceptional leadership” as a member of NFJPIA, Noah Rex Talosig was presented the Outstanding JPIAn Award.
Carren Moira Cheong served as the coach for the UB participants.
Last year, UB pocketed the championship medal in the Master in Business Laws and Taxation quiz bee. The University likewise landed third in Master in Auditing, second in the Executive Officers’ Encounter, and second in the Search for Regional Accounting Wizards.
