The University of Baguio (UB) staged the first-ever university-organized inter-school hiphop competition, packing the UB Gym with hundreds of hiphop enthusiasts from around the City.
The event, which was held last March 11, gathered public and private high schools from Baguio. It specifically covered students from Grades 7 to 10. The Baguio City High School was hailed champion, receiving a 32-inch LED TV. Meanwhile, the Philippine Science High School – CAR Campus landed second, followed by the Doña Aurora National High School and Berkeley School in the third and fourth spots, respectively. The Roxas National High School clinched the fifth spot.
The event, organized by the UB Office of Student Affairs, sought to “open the doors of UB to the Baguio community, as an institution that engages students to actively participate in activities that demonstrate self-reliance and cooperation in a friendly and competitive atmosphere, developing and enhancing their abilities, skills and talents.” It was conducted as part of the celebration of the UB Founder’s Week.
