UB conducts drop-out reduction outreach

 

 

The University of Baguio School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (UB-SCJPS) conducted an outreach activity last Nov. 6 at Pinget Elementary School.

 

The activity was anchored on the drop-out rate reduction program of the Department of Education (DepEd) and is part of the efforts to help reduce cases of dropouts in the region.

 

Dr. Jezreel Vicente, chair of the Bachelor of Forensic Science program of UB, emphasized the value of self-determination in his talk. Meanwhile, Dr. Victor Delos Santos, SCJPS dean, delivered a talk which underscored the importance of raising children with values.

 

The participants were grantees of the Drop-out Rate Risk Reduction Scholarship Program of DepEd, as well as their parents.

 

The activity was sponsored by the Baguio City Police Office, EnClean, PSSUPT Gerardo Tumbaga Sr., Michael Turk, Mr. and Mrs. Lalaine Lacambra, Dr. Delos Santos, Dr. Vicente, and UB PhD Criminology students.

 

It was conducted in coordination with the UB Extension and Community Services Office. – Andrea Nicole Plete and Stephanie Janne Belgica

 

 

Andrea Nicole Plete and Stephanie Janne Belgica are senior Bachelor of Forensic Science students of the University of Baguio.

Members of SCJPS student organizations facilitate during the activity, which had the theme “Help Others Achieve their Dreams and You Will Achieve Yours.”

 

 

The outreach was spearheaded and sponsored by the different student organizations of SCJPS, UB PhD Criminology students, and SCJPS faculty.
