Binge-watches: Two Broke Girls

Binge-reads: Novels (romance, mystery, dystopian, etc.), blogs

Comfort track/s: “Roses” by The Chainsmokers feat. ROZES, “It’s Strange” by Louis the Child feat K. Flay

Comfort activities: Traveling, going to the beach, eating, listening to music

Listens to a lot of: EDM, pop, indie

Style principle: It’s not what you’re wearing that matters but how you carry it.

Style history: My sister used to model and she loved joining fashion shows and also pageants. I would always accompany her to events (I was the stage sister). Until the fashion thing got my attention. My sister, being highly influential in my life, absolutely influenced me.

Caught the fashion bug at age: 15

Favorite style item: White sneakers

Style icon: Amanda Steele

Most memorable fashion experience: I tutor an 11-year old kid. She gets bullied and has low self-esteem. Whenever we see each other, she looks at what I’m wearing. Her mom told me she started buying clothes similar to mine. The kid shows them to me. Now, aside from teaching her, I also help her dress up; sometimes, I choose her outfits. I noticed how her confidence eventually built up and I find it amazing how the way one dresses up can inspire people.

STYLE TIP FOR THE WEEK

The ‘90s are definitely back! And overalls are surely here! You can spot fashion bloggers rocking overalls in the streets again and you can, too! You might not have the best style memories of overalls as a kid but, hey, you can absolutely style them now! You just have to put your outfit together in the right way and rock it with the right style elements.

Let’s focus our attention on this week’s ensemble which features a denim overall (note that interesting creature on the right leg) paired with a striped top. The white sneakers gave the fun look a clean finish.

Now (and this works for both overalls and short overalls), if you want a more casual look, match your overalls with a flirty or vibrant top to give your outfit some wow factor – you can try wearing a lace shirt underneath and match it with colorful wedges.

For something laid-back, go for printed flats and a trendy hat. Throw on a blazer if you’re going for a professional look.

Short overalls can still work during the cold season (which is fast approaching). Just grab some black tights, scarf and black boots and, voilà, you’re good to go!
