INDUSTRIAL LINKAGES AND
INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
The Industrial Linkages
Development Office (ILDO) was created specifically to establish
relationships with the various industrial and commercial establishments
relevant to the deployment of UB students during their internship or
on-the-job training. With existing Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) UB also
makes arrangements with organizations in the government and private sectors
in determining the employability of UB students with these institutions.
Foremost of these linkages are with Texas Instruments, Phils., Zilog
Electronic, Phils., Sanyo Phils., Amkor Annam, and others.

The UB College of Hotel
and Restaurant Management is specially proud of its internship program
whereby students are deployed in the different hotels and hospitality areas
all-over the Asia, in Europe, Middle East and USA. UB recognizes that the
hospitality industry is a dynamic and fragmented industry with its unique
sets of challenges thus prepares its students to meet these demands in the
global market. Not only will managers consider students from an accredited
and excellent school but will also highly regard the trainee’s practical
experience.
The major areas of
training for HRM interns are Accommodations, Food & Beverage, Sports &
Recreation, and Front Office Department, while the areas for Tourism
trainees are Front Office Dept., Transportation, Sports & Recreation, and
Travel Agencies.
Aside from being deployed
at five-star hotels in Manila, UB students are often assigned as trainees in
posh and elegant hotels/restaurants in Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Macau,
Bahrain, Kuwait, Denmark, and in several states in the US.
University of Baguio’s
continuing provisions for quality and responsive education, competent
faculty and employees, up-to-date- facilities – all in a family atmosphere,
has prepared and developed the student into a capable, responsible,
productive, and service-oriented individual. He is now ready to face the
challenges of a competitive world.
