Computer Laboratory Procedures on Software Installation
To facilitate proper planning and allocation of computer lab resources, we urge all Colleges to submit their requirements, generally, 2 weeks before the start of the term. Such requirements may include:
- Lab reservations for special classes and/or non-computer lab classes
(Computer Lab Reservation Guidelines)
- Major software installation (i.e., new additional softwares, OS upgrade, etc.)
- Other requirements deemed necessary by the Computer Subject Coordinator or faculty in-charge of the Computer Subject for the coming term.
In connection with this, we also urge all faculty members to course their computer lab requirements through their respective Department Deans for them to be notified of such requests.
For within the term software installation requests, please allow 2-3 days grace period. Computer lab availability needs to be verified first before actual installation takes place.
Please take note we install software duly licensed for UB use only. If you are not sure of the software package, please verify with your supplier or contact our Computer Technicians at local 241 or the MIS Director at local 229.
