UB Receives 1.5 million from Bayanihan2 Subsidy- CHED

On December 23, 2020, the University of Baguio represented by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan, received from CHED the check amounting to  Php 1,515,000.00.  The said amount which  serves as cash assistance under the subsidy program implemented by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) will benefit  more or less 300 students from the University.     
The Bayanihan 2 Tulong For Higher Education Tulong Program (B2HELP) is one of the interventions of the National Government to financially assist qualified students from both private and public higher education institutions.  For students in private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), these qualifications are:
  1.  Must be a Filipino citizen 
  2.  Must be enrolled in a CHED-recognized Bachelor's Degree Program of  First Semester, AY 2020-2021.
  3.  Must have outstanding tuition and miscellaneous fees balance incurred during AY 2019-2020 or AY 2020-2021 and
  4. Must be a 3rd year, 4th year, or graduating student of  First Semester, AY 2020-2021.
The B2HELP is to provide a one-time fixed grant of five thousand peso (Php5,000.00) to qualified students "whose families are now facing financial difficulties brought by a work stoppage and closure of establishments due to community quarantine. It shall prioritize qualified students in private HEIs to pay their unpaid balances incurred in the Academic Year (AY) 2019-2020 or AY 2020-2021. 
The University complied with the B2HELP implementation procedures, and submitted to CHEDRO  the list of qualified students.

Criminology program, Center of Excellence in Criminology (the award given twice), the first to offer Bachelor of Forensic Science in the Philippines, and the first to offer Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Master of Science in Criminology, Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology programs in Northern Philippines.

     With the school's relevant training programs in place, the graduates are certain to acquire the skills needed in the global arena.
