Members of the University of Baguio (UB) Cardinals Men’s Basketball Team confronted actors and models from the Manila-based Team Alog/Smokingpope 2.0 in a friendly match held at the UB Gym last April 22.
Team Alog took the lead during the game, 87-72. The UB Cardinals ruled the first quarter but failed to catch up in the second.
Members of the UB Cardinals who played at the match were Maenard Rae Razo, Efren Dela Cruz, Claude Leymark Camit, Mark Joseph Romero, Libert Caccam, Jezreel Martinez, Angelio Cambaliza, John Eric Victorio, Jaime Edward Reyes, Franz Cabrera, Vincent Jay Custodio, Garth Ezekiel Talusig, Aldrien Puzon, Vince Ahron Sibbaluca, Adrien Virgilio Imson, Von Andrie Cosme, Ivan Jay Atijera, Yrell Bugayong, Kelly Lugo, Cyril De Vera, Lawrenze Tabamo and Ronzae Cosme.
Team Alog members who played included actor Josh Ivan Morales, Prince Ollano (UP Fighting Maroons), Batang Gilas champ A.J. Madrigal, Christian Jay Morales (Team Manila), former PBB housemate and actor Jolas Paguia, E.J. de Guzman (Team Quezon City), PBL player Garri Sevilla; Nico Bolos (St. Claire D-League), PBA draftee Milan Vargas; 2016 Asia Star Model of the Year Korea Marx Topacio, and assistant junior PBA coach Richard Billy Castro.
The UB Cardinals are among region’s top basketball teams, winning 28 out of 32 seasons of the Baguio-Benguet Educational Athletic Association. –Ralph Raposa
