Scout exchange program agreement signed

A memorandum of agreement was signed between the University of Baguio (UB), the Korea Scout Association, and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) last Jan. 23.

Under the agreement, UB shall host the International Scout Exchange Program in Baguio City, a seven-day program which seeks to promote intercultural interaction between the people of South Korea and the Philippines.

In the program, a visiting scout will live with the family of the host scout, allowing him/her to experience the life in the community and learn about the local people’s culture.

The Korea Scout Association will spearhead the program in South Korea. Meanwhile, the BSP will facilitate the conduct of the program in Baguio City and in South Korea.

The signing ceremony was held at the UB Centennial Hall, attended by scouts from South Korea and the Philippines.
