UB accountancy studes bag major awards in nat’l competition

The University of Baguio (UB)  team landed as second runner-up in the management advisory case study competition during the 22nd National Mid-Year Convention of the National Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants held in Iloilo City last Nov. 23-26.


UB accountancy students Rachel Lomibao, Kevin Chester Orduña and Czara Jamille Riolada represented UB in the competition, which was sponsored by SGV & Co., a global auditing firm.


Orduña was hailed as the Best Male Presentor in the competition, which was divided into two rounds: the advisory engagement simulation and the case defense. The participants were given a client with a company problem. They then served as consultants, presenting their recommended solutions to the client’s company problem.


Lomibao also joined the taxation quiz bee, wherein she settled as the fifth placer.


Meanwhile, Czarina Aleira Caguntas finished as first runner-up in the Search for Ms. Ambassador of Goodwill Philippines 2019. She was also awarded as Best in Casual Wear, Best in Sponsor’s Wear, Best in Resorts Wear, and Best in Theme Wear.
