The UB arnis team at the International Martial Arts Contest in South Korea
Four members of the University of Baguio (UB) arnis team have secured medals at the International Martial Arts Contest held at the Chungju Indoor Stadium in Chungju City, Cheongchong Province, South Korea on Oct. 25-29.
Angelyn Datuin and Elmer Manlapas both secured the first place in weapon duo. On the essay writing services other hand, Jesus Jr. Macalanda and Izy Zyrell Pobletin both landed fifth in the same category. The weapon duo event included around 40 entries.
The competition was attended by athletes from 19 countries, namely China, Vietnam, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Colombia, India, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Korea, and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, at the 5th Women’s Martial Arts Festival held in Malate, Manila last Oct. 22-25, the UB team garnered a total of 13 medals (five gold, three silver, five bronze). Felvy Ah-ul (two gold), Eza Rai Yalong (one gold, one silver, two bronze), Glyzel Garambas ( one gold), Abegail Abad (one gold), Pauline Avillanoza (one silver), Marion Lopez (one silver), Khloei Ej Directo (one bronze), Rhossy Flor Miguel (one bronze), and Nica Mae Pinmiliw (one bronze) all battled it out to bring home the medals.
Moreover, at the Makati Arnis Challenge held in Makati last Oct. 26-28, UB raked in 16 medals, as follows: Ezekyl Habig – four gold; Angelo Paet – four gold; Mike Aaron Capsuyen – three gold, one bronze; Kurt Daryl Yabes – one gold, one silver, one bronze; Mack John-Neil Pineda – one gold, one silver; Bernardo Torres III – two silver; Zakk Lorcan Lardizabal – one bronze, one silver; Marc Alexis Martin – one silver; Raven Gipit – one silver; Takuya Wada – one bronze.
