A tree-planting activity at Busol watershed in Pacdal, Baguio City was conducted by employees and students of the University of Baguio (UB) last July 6.
The activity is a follow-through of the weeding activity carried out last May.
Teaching and non-teaching personnel of the University participated in the activity, which was spearheaded by the UB Extension and Community Outreach Services Office and the UB Office of the Vice President for Finance.
The activity was held in collaboration with the Baguio Water District (BWD). BWD provided 200 pine tree saplings, which were planted by the UB volunteers in UB’s adopted area within the Busol watershed. Nelson Selvino from the BWD conducted an orientation prior to the start of the tree-planting activity.
The Busol watershed is the city’s primary source of water for household consumption.
