Deans, principals, directors, and heads of offices of the University of Baguio (UB) attended an orientation on Republic Act 10173, commonly known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, at the UB Centennial Hall last July 9.

Atty. Rommel Ayson, UB’s vice president for administration, presented some salient provisions of the Act, highlighting the processing of personal information and the rights of the data subject.

The Act seeks to promote the “protection of the fundamental human right of privacy, of communication while ensuring free flow of information to promote innovation and growth.”

Meanwhile, the annual management strategic plan review and operations planning was held last July 12-13 at the UB Centennial Hall.

Attended by the deans, principals, directors, and heads of offices of the University, the activity included presentations in seven areas: sustainability and viability of operations, student development, faculty and staff development, quality assurance, facilities development, research development, and community extension.

The planning is held to lay out the framework for the incoming school year’s direction along the specified areas.
