Dexter John Dacayanan, Jefferson Locloc and Sherry Mae Saxton from the UB School of Business Administration and Accountancy finished at the top spot at the event, which was organized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Regional District 2.
Ten questions were asked during the elimination round. The top three teams then advanced to the final round, where five questions were given. UB accumulated the highest score, seizing the championship title.
The winners received certificates, a trophy and cash prize.
The activity highlighted BIR’s tax collection campaign “Tunay na Pagbabago, Para sa Bayan.” It aimed to heighten the students’ awareness on the principles of taxation and internal revenue taxes. Mayor Mauricio Domogan and BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay delivered keynote speeches at the event.
