The University of Baguio (UB) emerged as champion during the accounting quiz bowl of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Baguio-Benguet Chapter held in the City on Sept. 6.
Hanna Angway and Franklin Jan Wayang, fifth year Accountancy students of the University, were 11 points ahead of the second place to secure the first spot, scoring a total of 34 points. The competition covered management advisory services, practical accounting, taxation, business laws, auditing theory, and auditing problems.
UB was also the champion in the same competition last year.
The event was organized by PICPA Baguio-Benguet Chapter, in coordination with the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants Cordillera Chapter.
The winners received medals, review scholarship grants, certificates and cash.
UB also landed second in the pop dance competition of the event, which had the theme “SHINE – Service, Honesty, Innovation and Nation-building through Education.” – Carlo De Guzman and Kareen Leon
