The University of Baguio (UB), led by its Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Janice Kaylyn Lonogan, attended the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region’s (CHED-CAR) celebration of its 25th anniversary in La Trinidad, Benguet last May 7.
The celebration bannered the theme “Celebrating 25 Years towards Access, Equity and Global Excellence in Higher Education.”
Dr. Lonogan attended the event together with the deans, directors and staff of UB’s different departments.
Exhibits highlighted the celebration, one of which is the “Sari-Saring Husay at Tagumpay” where successful CHED scholars who graduated were featured. Posters of universities and colleges from across the region were also displayed. The posters contain the accomplishments of the said universities and colleges in research, instruction and extension, in which CHED played an important role.
Products of selected universities and provinces were also on display, some of them for sale. Research journals of the region’s higher educational institutions were likewise included in the exhibit, as well as the history of CHED-CAR in the form of articles and photos. – Dr. Kareen Leon and Jenelyn Magpatoc
