UB secures top awards in reg’l accounting confab

 The University of Baguio (UB) secured major awards at the 18th Regional Mid-year Convention of the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) – Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region held in the City on Sept. 23-25.



Kevin Chester Orduña, Czara Jamille Riolada and Melissa Nerez brought home the gold medal in the regional audit case challenge event.



Likewise, Franco Dean Caoili placed first in the financial accounting and reporting quiz bee. He also landed third in the management advisory services competition.



Moreover, Orduña secured the fourth place in the “meet the standards” quiz competition while Rachel Lomibao settled at the fifth spot in both the auditing and in the “meet the standards” quiz competitions, also clutching the sixth place in the taxation quiz bee.



Meanwhile, Czarina Aleira Caguintas was crowned Ms. Ambassador of Goodwill. In addition, she was presented the following awards: Best in Casual Interview, Best in Mock Interview, Best in Sponsor’s Wear, Best in Resorts Wear, Best in Formal Wear, and People’s Choice Award.



Furthermore, the JPIA – UB Chapter was awarded as the Outstanding Local Chapter during the convention.



The winners will advance to the national mid-year convention which will be held in Iloilo in November. – Carla Mae Herreria and Rachel Lomibao
