A high school student from the University of Baguio (UB) was awarded as the Most Outstanding Delegate of the World Trade Organization, Asia World Model United Nations ll.
Jef Mitzel Paran, a grade 12 student of the UB Science High School, was recognized by the Baguio City Council for his feat through a resolution on Feb. 4.
“Paran’s achievement sets an example for the youth to emulate,” part of the resolution read.
The Asia World Model United Nations engages youth leaders from around the globe to share perspectives and opinions on the most pressing issues facing the world. This year’s theme is “The World’s Dilemma: Enhancing World Action on Climate Change.”
Some 193 countries participated in the gathering, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand last Jan. 30 – Feb. 2.
Paran is an incumbent Sangguniang Kabataan member of barangay Trancoville.
