UB stude wins as 1st runner-up in tourism quiz challenge

University of Baguio’s Rey Arnulf Guzman finished as first runner-up in the North Philippines Tourism and Travel Expo Quiz Bee Challenge held at SM City Clark, Pampanga last Nov. 12.


The quiz bee included topics on Philippine and world geography, passenger transportation, domestic tourism, as well as current events.


Guzman received P5,000 and a certificate from the Pampanga Agents Travel Society.


Other participating schools were Holy Angel University (Pampanga), Mariano Marcos State University (Ilocos), Systems Plus College Foundation (Pampanga), Saint Mary’s University (Nueva Vizcaya), Angeles University Foundation (Pampanga), and City College of Angeles (Pampanga).


The activity aimed to promote academic challenge, love of country, brotherhood and unity amongst schools through a friendly competition.


The North Philippines Tourism and Travel Expo is an annual event of the Department of Tourism Regions I, II, III and CAR in partnership with the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon and the Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corp. It is part of the celebration of the World Tourism Day, which, this year, has the theme, “Tourism for All: Promoting Universal Accessibility.” – Rachelle Anne Montoya
