Research is a valuable tool in the actualization of the University of Baguio’s vision “in pursuit of perfection”.

The School of Dentistry is committed to provide excellent dental education geared toward the development of competitive and socially responsible dentists who are equipped with knowledge, attitudes and skills to practice their profession and become useful and productive member of the society in which they are a part. In this regard, they continuously pursue scientific knowledge; conduct relevant researches focused on the promotion of oral health; advocate/disseminate results of oral health researches through active involvement in community oral health education and outreach programs and activities.

The researches produced were utilized in the improvement of the performance of clinicians in their clinical dentistry subject and board exam performance. Some were used to improve the oral health status of preschool children from various Day Care Centers in the city, blind children from Northern Luzon Association for the Blind (NLAB), autistic and hearing impaired children from Special Education Center (SPED), children in conflict with the law from Boys Town, and inmates of Baguio City jail and residents in the school’s adopted barangay.

Ms. Abigail de Jesus (University of Baguio) is the official representative of CAR for the oral research presentation - student category. She presented their research entitled "Effectiveness of Tooth Buddy Mobile Application in Promoting Oral Health Education among Children".
