Trainors’ Evaluation on the Level of Confidence and Initiative of On-the-Job Training Students of the College Commerce, University of Baguio

This research was aimed at assessing the level of confidence and initiative of on-the-job training (OJT) students of the College of Commerce, University of Baguio. This study made use of the descriptive-survey method. It required data-gathering with the use of a questionnaire, interview, and observation. The data were collated, analyzed, and interpreted in light of the concepts and principles of management, human relations, and organizational behaviours. Results revealed that with regard to the evaluation of the trainee’s level of confidence, this was not influenced by the trainor’s age, position, and length of service. Also, the age and position of the trainor’s did not affect their evaluation vis-à-vis the trainee’s level of initiative. Conversely, while the newer trainors tend to rate the trainees higher, senior trainors tend to rate the trainees lower as they have higher expectations of the latter’s performance.
