Basic Admission Requirements

The Science High Qualifying Test (SHQT) is given to all qualified incoming Grade 7 students, Grade 8 and Grade 11 transferees only.

 

INCOMING GRADE 7 STUDENTS

  1. Claim the following FORMS from the Principal’s Office of UB Science High School
  2. Science High Qualifying Test (SHQT) Form – to be accomplished by the parent and student.
  3. Recommendation Form – to be accomplished by the Elementary School principal/ class adviser/ guidance counselor.

*SHQT and Recommendation Forms may also be downloaded from the UB Science High School website.

  1. Submit the following to the Principal’s Office of UB Science High School for document screening:
  2. Accomplished SHQT Form
  3. Accomplished Recommendation Form
  4. Photocopy of Grade 6 Report Card
  5. Wait for the approval of the Registration Officer before paying a non-refundable testing fee of Php 150 at the University Cashier.

*Testing fee is free for all public school students

  1. Submit the official receipt to the Principal’s Office of UB Science High School.
  2. The Registration Officer may release the SHQT permit with examination schedule.
  3. In the event that the student cannot come on the scheduled examination, a reschedule shall be made after payment of Php 100 at the Cashiers Office on a one time basis only.
  4. Calculators, dictionaries and cellular phones are strictly not permitted.
  5. EXAMINEES SHALL BRING 2 LEAD PENCILS, ERASERS AND SNACKS DURING EXAM.
  6. All SHQT Results shall be released at the same time. The date of release will be announced on the examination day.
  7. The School reserves the right at any time to refuse admission, under certain conditions, as enrolment in UB Science High School is a privilege.

 

INCOMING GRADE 8 TRANSFEREES

  1. Claim the following forms from the Principal’s Office of UB Science High School
  2. Science High Qualifying Test (SHQT) Form – to be accomplished by the parent and student.
  3. Recommendation Form – to be accomplished by the Junior High School principal/ class adviser/ guidance counselor.

  1. Submit the following to the Principal’s Office of UB Science High School for document screening:

  3. Accomplished Recommendation Form
  4. Photocopy of Grade 7 Report Card

  4. Photocopy of Grade 10 Report Card
  • STEM Applicant should have:
  • A grade of 85 and above for Math and Science subjects.
  • No academic grade of 79 and below.
  • ABM Applicant should have:
  • A grade of 85 and above for Math subject/s
  • No academic grade of 79 and below.
  1. Photocopy of National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) Results
  • STEM Applicant should have a percentile rank of 86 and above in the STEM subtest in the career assessment exam.
  • ABM Applicant should have a percentile rank of 85 and above in the ABM subtest in the career assessment exam.
  1. Wait for the approval of the Registration Officer before paying a non-refundable testing fee of Php 200 at the University Cashier.

*Testing fee is free for all public school students
